Our Story

The Legacy Begins

Long before Bear Creek Ranch became what it is today, the foundation was already being laid.

As a young horsewoman, Carol Maginn was not only riding horses—she was learning the joy of raising and developing them. Some of the earliest chapters in that journey were riding our home-bred Half-Arabian/Quarter horses at the New Jersey State Fair, looking forward to our first foals, riding the New Jersey trails, riding dressage, western, and whatever was meant for each horse.

The lessons began early—at home, in the saddle, in the show ring, and alongside the horses themselves. They would eventually become the foundation for a much larger vision: Bear Creek Ranch.

Today, that same passion continues. The horses may be different. We’re now in Texas, but the philosophy remains remarkably the same: breed thoughtfully, raise horses well, and give every horse the opportunity to become something extraordinary.
