Bear Creek Ranch

A breeding and performance program rooted in champion bloodlines, ranch tradition, and a lifelong devotion to the Arabian and Quarter Horse.

It all started with a mare named Raz.

Our love of Arabians and Quarter Horses was born the day our family brought home our first half-Arabian mare — and she had it all. Raz carried the beauty, endurance, and intelligence of the Arabian, combined with the size, muscle, and strength of the American Quarter Horse. Together we competed all day long — halter, showmanship, trail, reining, barrel racing, pole bending, western riding — and on weekends we’d saddle up for 25-mile endurance rides and competitive trail events. That mare lit a fire in us that never went out.

Over the years, our passion took us around the world — the Middle East, Australia, Europe, and anywhere beautiful Arabians could be found. We competed across the United States at Egyptian Events and Regional shows, chasing champion bloodlines and the horses that carry them.

Then something interesting happened in the Quarter Horse world. The most successful halter horses were becoming more refined, more elegant — frankly, more Arabian. We took notice. We turned our sights toward Ranch Riding and Trail Horses, and what we found brought us full circle back to everything we loved about Raz.

Today, Bear Creek Ranch specializes in breeding Purebred Arabians, Half Arabians, and Quarter Horses — champion-bred, ranch-proven, and showring-ready. We still believe the Arabian Quarter Horse cross is one of the most versatile horses on the planet, equally at home in the competition pen or on a family trail ride. It’s where our roots are, and it’s where our heart still lives.

Reilly and Carol Maginn are now training for Ranch Horse events — riding alongside Arabians, Half Arabians, and Quarter Horses, proving once again that versatility is in the Bear Creek bloodline.
